The house that was insured for its old price
A couple had renewed the same buildings sum for six years. Local repair costs had moved. The brief replaced the sum with a rebuild estimate, named the home office equipment, and asked the insurer to confirm storm cover on the flat roof. The premium rose slightly. The gap they had been carrying was larger than that rise.

The cafe that started to cater
The owner still held a policy written for eat-in service only. Once a van carried food to offices, goods in transit and business motor use belonged on the map. We also extended the interruption indemnity period from three months to six, because refitting a kitchen after a fire would not finish inside a season.

The trip with a declared condition
A traveller almost bought an annual policy without mentioning a heart condition managed with daily medicine. The brief listed the condition, the medication, and the scuba day on the itinerary. The quote that came back was dearer and, unlike the first one, able to respond to the risk they were actually taking.
